GoCaptcha detects a captcha request in three distinct stages: when it is requested, solved, or verified. Verification can only be done by the website owner using a secret key known only to them. The cost to the website owner for verifying captchas is $1 per 1000 successful requests. This ensures that even if someone attempts to make fake requests, the website owner will only pay for successful verifications.

How it works

Whenever a user requests a captcha, we choose a random image from a pre-defined list and extract a random tile of 420x420 pixels from it. This tile is then split into nine equal squares and randomly rotated by 90, 180, or 270 degrees. As a result, the user must click on each square at least once to complete the image. To make it more challenging for automated programs to solve the captcha, we remove a border of 5 pixels around each square. Additionally, we apply some image processing techniques to make it even more difficult to compare neighboring squares and guess the rotations of each square.
